Let the Playoffs Begin
by

With the regular season officially over today, twenty teams have played their final game of the season and will have to wait until next year for another chance to make the playoffs. Derek Jeter's career has come around in full circle, as he went one for two with an RBI single in his final at bat of his legendary career. With that aside, it is time for the 2014 Major League Baseball Postseason. To start off, the American League Wild Card Game will be on Tuesday, September 30. In this game, the Kansas City Royals will take on the Oakland Athletics. The winner of the game will move on to the American League Division Series and will face the Los Angeles Angels. The National League Wild Card Game will take place on Wednesday, October 1. The Pittsburgh Pirates will face off against the San Francisco Giants at PNC Park to determine who will advance to the National League Division Series to take on the Washington Nationals. With the playoffs ready to go, it will surely be an exciting time of the year. I am happy to say that I will be attending the National League Wild Card Game in hopes to see my beloved Pirates defeat the Giants. After experiencing Pirates playoff baseball for the first time in my life last year, it will be very exciting to see the Pirates make a return trip to the playoffs.
