Seattle Mariners' pitching prospect Victor Sanchez died as a result of a serious head injury that he sustained in a boating accident. He was struck in the head by a boat propeller while he was swimming in his native Venezuela. Sanchez, 20, spent the 2014 season with Double-A Jackson. In 23 games, he compiled a record of (7-6) with a 4.19 ERA. He pitched one complete-game shutout as well. This is truly a tragedy. May he rest in peace.
