Red Sox Acquire Sandy Leon
The Boston Red Sox acquired catcher Sandy Leon from the Washington Nationals in exchange for cash considerations. Leon, 26, has played in 34 career games for the Nationals. He has a career batting average of .189 with one home run and five runs batted in. The Red Sox also placed catcher Christian Vazquez on the 60-day disabled list with a sprained right elbow. Vazquez, 24, made his Major League debut with the Red Sox in 2014. In 55 games, he hit .240 with one home run and 20 runs batted in.
