Joel Hanrahan to Undergo Tommy John Surgery, Released by Tigers

Pitcher Joel Hanrahan will undergo his second Tommy John surgery and was subsequently released by the Detroit Tigers. Hanrahan, 33, has pitched in 362 career games for the Washington Nationals, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Boston Red Sox. He has a career record of (22-18) with a 3.85 ERA and 100 saves. He is a two-time All Star selection as a member of the Pirates. He never pitched in a game with the Tigers and he last appeared in a Major League game in 2013.
