Giants Add Maxwell, Designate Brown for Assignment
The San Francisco Giants added outfielder Justin Maxwell to their Major League roster. Maxwell, 31, has played in 341 career games for the Washington Nationals, Houston Astros, and Kansas City Royals. He has a career batting average of .224 with 34 home runs and 107 runs batted in. To make room, the Giants designated outfielder Gary Brown for assignment. Brown, 26, made his Major League debut with the Giants in 2014. In seven games, he hit .429 with no home runs and one run batted in.
