Mets Acquire Alex Torres
The New York Mets acquired pitcher Alex Torres from the San Diego Padres in exchange for pitcher Cory Mazzoni and a player to be named later. Torres, 27, has pitched in 113 career games for the Tampa Bay Rays and Padres. He has a career record of (7-4) with a 2.55 ERA. Mazzoni, 25, split the 2014 season with the Gulf Coast League Mets, Class-A St. Lucie, Double-A Binghamton, and Triple-A Las Vegas. In 14 games, he compiled a record of (7-2) with a 4.68 ERA.
