Nate Schierholtz Opts Out
Outfielder Nate Schierholtz has opted out of his minor league contract with the Texas Rangers and is now a free agent. Schierholtz, 31, has played in 799 career games for the Giants, Phillies, Cubs, and Nationals. He has a career batting average of .253 with 52 home runs and 228 runs batted in. He won the World Series as a member of the Giants in 2010.
