Mark Teixeira to Miss Rest of Season

The New York Yankees announced that first baseman Mark Teixeira will miss the remainder of the 2015 season with a fractured right shin. Teixeira, 35, has played in 1746 career games for the Rangers, Braves, Angels, and Yankees. He has a career batting average of .272 with 394 home runs and 1254 runs batted in. He is a three-time All Star selection, five-time Gold Glove winner, three-time Silver Slugger Award winner, and he won the World Series as a member of the New York Yankees in the 2009 season.
