Jean Beliveau
Jean Beliveau, the Canadiens great and Hockey Hall of Famer, has died. He was 83 years old. Even though my blog is devoted to baseball, I have to mention this because Jean Beliveau was one of the great players to ever play the game of hockey. He played in 1,125 career games with the Montreal Canadiens in a career that spanned from the 1950-51 season to the 1970-71 season. He registered 507 goals, 712 assists, and 1,219 points. This is truly a devastating loss. Rest in peace, Jean Beliveau.
I have never seen him play, but I have heard so much about him as a leader and as a terrific hockey player. He will be remembered as one of the greatest Canadiens to ever play for them. He also won 17 Stanley Cups with the Montreal Canadiens. What a winner. he will rest in peace with all that he has done for the game of ice hockey.
