Rafael Furcal Retires
Long-time Major League infielder Rafael Furcal has retired. Furcal, 37, played in 1614 career games for the Braves, Dodgers, Cardinals, and Marlins. He has a career batting average of .281 with 113 home runs and 587 runs batted in. He is a three-time All Star selection and he was the 2000 National League Rookie of the Year. He also won the World Series in 2011 as a member of the St. Louis Cardinals.
