Braves Sign Two More
The Atlanta Braves have signed outfielder Zolio Almonte to a one-year contract. Almonte, 25, has played in parts of the 2013 and 2014 seasons with the New York Yankees. In 47 Major League games, Almonte has a career batting average of .211 with two home runs and 12 runs batted in. The Braves also signed pitcher Donnie Veal to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Veal, 30, has pitched in 100 career games with the Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago White Sox. Veal has a career record of (3-3) with a 4.87 ERA and one save.
