Cardinal Trade
The St. Louis Cardinals acquired outfielder Jason Heyward and pitcher Jordan Walden from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for pitchers Shelby Miller and Tyrell Jenkins. Heyward, 25, has a career batting average of .262 with 84 home runs and 292 runs batted in. Heyward was a 2010 All Star selection and is a two-time Gold Glove Award winner. Walden, 27, has pitched in 231 career games with the Angels and Braves. In his career, Walden has a record of (12-13) with a 3.10 ERA and 38 saves. Miller, 24, has pitched in 69 games with the Cardinals and has compiled a record of (26-18) with a 3.33 ERA. Miller has also pitched two complete games, both being shutouts. Jenkins, 22, spent the 2014 season in Class-A Palm Beach.
