Nate Schierholtz to Japan
Free agent outfielder Nate Schierholtz signed a one-year contract with the Hiroshima Carp of Nippon Professional Baseball. Schierholtz, 31, has played in 799 career games for the Giants, Phillies, Cubs, and Nationals. He has a career batting average of .253 with 52 home runs and 228 runs batted in.
