Rays Designate Grant Balfour for Assignment
The Tampa Bay Rays designated pitcher Grant Balfour for assignment. Balfour, 37, has pitched in 533 career games for the Twins, Brewers, Rays, and Athletics. He has a career record of (30-23) with a 3.44 ERA and 84 saves. He was selected to his first All Star Game in 2013 as a member of the Athletics.
