The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired pitcher Xavier Cedeno from the Washington Nationals in exchange for cash considerations. Cedeno, 28, has pitched in 77 career games for the Houston Astros and the Nationals. He has a career record of (0-1) with a 5.24 ERA and one save. To make room, the Dodgers designated pitcher Daniel Corcino for assignment. Corcino, 24, made his Major League debut with the Cincinnati Reds in 2014. In five games, he compiled a record of (0-2) with a 4.34 ERA. The Dodgers also released pitcher Freddy Garcia. Garcia, 38, has pitched in 376 career games for the Mariners, White Sox, Phillies, Tigers, Yankees, Orioles, and Braves. He has a career record of (156-108) with a 4.15 ERA. He has pitched 12 complete games in his career and four of them were shutouts. He is a two-time All Star selection and he won the World Series as a member of the Chicago White Sox in 2005. He has not appeared in a Major League game since the 2013 season.
