Marlins Designate Jarrod Saltalamacchia for Assignment
The Miami Marlins designated catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia for assignment. Saltalamacchia, 29, has played in 718 career games for the Braves, Rangers, Red Sox, and Marlins. He has a career batting average of .240 with 90 home runs and 320 runs batted in. He won the World Series as a member of the Red Sox in 2013.
