Marlins Acquire Dee Gordon in Seven-Player Deal
The Miami Marlins acquired infielders Dee Gordon and Miguel Rojas, pitcher Dan Haren and a player to be named later or cash considerations from the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for pitchers Alex Heaney and Chris Hatcher, infielder Enrique Hernandez, and catcher Austin Barnes. Gordon, 26, has played in 329 career games for the Dodgers. He has a career batting average of .272 with four home runs and 68 runs batted in. He was selected to his first All Star Game in 2014. Rojas, 26 in February, made his Major League debut with the Dodgers in 2014. In 85 games, he hit .181 with one home runs and nine runs batted in. Haren, 34, has pitched in 359 career games for the Cardinals, Athletics, Diamondbakcs, Angels, Nationals, and Dodgers. He has a career record of (142-122) with a 3.77 ERA and one save. He has pitched 16 career complete games with six of them being shutouts. He is also a three-time All Star. Heaney, 23, made his Major League debut with the Marlins in 2014. In seven games, he compiled a record of (0-3) with a 5.83 ERA. Hatcher, 30 in January, has pitched in 81 career games for the Marlins. He has compiled a record of (0-4) with a 4.82 ERA. Hernandez, 23, split the 2014 season with the Astros and the Marlins. In 42 games, he hit .248 with three home runs and 14 runs batted in. Barnes, 25 on December 28, split the 2014 season with Class-A Jupiter and Double-A Jacksonville. In 122 games, he hit .304 with 13 home runs and 57 runs batted in.
