Giants Sign Three to Minors Deals

The San Francisco Giants signed outfielder Justin Maxwell and pitchers Cory Gearrin and Nik Turley to minor league contracts with invitations to spring training. Maxwell, 31, has played in 341 career games for the Washington Nationals, Houston Astros, and Kansas City Royals. He has a career batting average of .224 with 34 home runs and 107 runs batted in. Gearrin, 28, has pitched in 77 career games for the Atlanta Braves. He has a career record of (3-3) with a 4.28 ERA and one save. Turley, 25, spent the 2014 season with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton RailRiders, the Triple-A affiliate of the New York Yankees. In 13 games, he compiled a record of (5-3) with a 4.62 ERA.
