Marlins Sign Two to Minors Deals
The Miami Marlins signed pitcher Chris Narveson and outfielder Cole Gillespie to minor league contracts with invitations to spring training. Narveson, 33 on December 20, has pitched in 97 career games for the St. Louis Cardinals and Milwaukee Brewers. He has compiled a career record of (26-18) with a 4.65 ERA. Gillespie, 30, has played in 113 career games with the Diamondbacks, San Francisco Giants, Chicago Cubs, Seattle Mariners, and Toronto Blue Jays. He has a career batting average of .230 with four home runs and 25 runs batted in.
