Pirates Non-Tender Two Players
The Pittsburgh Pirates have non-tendered first baseman Gaby Sanchez and pitcher Chaz Roe. Sanchez, 31, has played in 700 career games with the Marlins and Pirates. He has a career batting average of .254 with 61 home runs and 266 runs batted in. He was a 2011 All Star selection as a member of the Marlins. He was designated for assignment yesterday to make room for newly-acquired infielder Sean Rodriguez. Roe, 28, never appeared in a game with the Pirates, but he has spent parts of the 2013 and 2014 seasons with the Diamondbacks and Yankees. In 24 career games, he has a career record of (1-0) with a 4.44 ERA.
