Royals Sign Four to Minors Deals
The Kansas City Royals signed pitcher Roman Colon (left), infielder Alex Liddi, and outfielders Brandon Jacobs and Mitch Maier (right) to minor league contracts with invitations to spring training. Colon, 35, has pitched in 124 career games for the Braves, Tigers, and Royals. He has a career record of (8-10) with a 5.19 ERA and one save. Liddi, 26, has played in 61 career games for the Mariners. He has a career batting average of .208 with six home runs and 16 runs batted in. Jacobs, 24, spent the 2014 season with the Visalia Rawhide, the Class-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. In 89 games, he hit .210 with 16 home runs and 36 runs batted in. Maier, 32, has played in 360 career games for the Royals. He has a career batting average of .248 with 10 home runs and 93 runs batted in.
