Pirates Designate Jake Elmore For Assignment
The Pittsburgh Pirates designated infielder Jake Elmore for assignment to make room for newly-signed shortstop Jung-ho Kang. Elmore, 27, never appeared in any games with the Pirates. He has a career batting average of .221 with two home runs and 13 RBI in 87 career games for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Houston Astros, and Cincinnati Reds.
