Johnson, Martinez, Smoltz, and Biggio Elected to Hall of Fame

Infielder Craig Biggio and pitchers Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez, John Smoltz have been elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Biggio, 49, played in 2850 career games for the Houston Astros. He has a career batting average of .281 with 291 home runs and 1175 runs batted in. He is a seven-time All Star, five-time Silver Slugger Award winner, and a four-time Rawling's Gold Glove Award winner. Johnson, 51, pitched in 618 career games for the Montreal Expos, Seattle Mariners, Houston Astros, Arizona Diamondbacks, New York Yankees, and San Francisco Giants. He has a career record of (303-166) with a 3.29 ERA and two saves. He pitched 100 career complete games with 37 of them being shutouts. He is a ten-time All Star, five-time Cy Young Award winner, a 2001 World Series Champion, and the 2001 World Series MVP. Martinez, 43, pitched in 476 career games for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Montreal Expos, Boston Red Sox, New York Mets, and Philadelphia Phillies. He has a career record of (219-100) with a 2.93 ERA and three saves. He pitched 46 career complete games with 17 of them being shutouts. He is an eight-time All Star, three-time Cy Young Award winner, and a 2004 World Series Champion. Smoltz, 47, pitched in 723 career games for the Atlanta Braves, Boston Red Sox, and St. Louis Cardinals. He has a career record of (213-155) with a 3.33 ERA and 154 saves. He pitched 53 career complete games with 16 of them being shutouts. He is an eight-time All Star, one-time Cy Young Award winner, one-time Silver Slugger Award winner, the 1992 National League Championship Series MVP, and a 1995 World Series Champion.
