The Houston Astros designated catcher Carlos Corporan for assignment to make room for newly-signed outfielder Colby Rasmus. Corporan, 31, has played in 199 career games for the Milwaukee Brewers and Houston Astros. He has a career batting average of .226 with 17 home runs and 63 runs batted in.
