Pirates Acquire John Bowker
The Pittsburgh Pirates acquired first baseman/outfielder John Bowker from the San Francisco Giants in exchange for cash considerations. Bowker, 31, has played in 240 career games for the Giants, Pirates, and Phillies. He has a career batting average of .232 with 17 home runs and 73 runs batted in. He has not appeared in a Major League game since the 2011 season.
