Braves Sign Eveland, Release Boggs

The Atlanta Braves signed pitcher Dana Eveland to a minor league contract. Eveland, 31, has pitched in 144 career games for the Brewers, Diamondbacks, Athletics, Blue Jays, Pirates, Dodgers, Orioles, and Mets. He has a career record of (20-26) with a 5.27 ERA and two saves. He has pitched one complete game in his career. He had just opted out of a minor league contract with the Boston Red Sox. The Braves also released pitcher Mitchell Boggs. Boggs, 31, has pitched in 241 career games for the Cardinals and Rockies. He has a career record of (13-15) with a 4.12 ERA and six saves. He won the World Series as a member of the St. Louis Cardinals in 2011. He has not pitched in a Major League game since the 2013 season.
