Brewers Claim Perez Off Waivers, Designate Herrera for Assignment
The Milwaukee Brewers claimed infielder Hernan Perez off waivers from the Detroit Tigers. Perez, 24, has played in 66 career games for the Tigers. He has a career batting average of .160 with no home runs and five runs batted in. To make room, the Brewers designated infielder Elian Herrera for assignment. Herrera, 30, has played in 178 career games for the Dodgers and Brewers. He has a career batting average of .249 with five home runs and 37 runs batted in.
