Reds Designate Jason Marquis for Assignment

The Cincinnati Reds designated pitcher Jason Marquis for assignment. Marquis, 36, has pitched in 377 career games for the Braves, Cardinals, Cubs, Rockies, Nationals, Diamondbacks, Twins, Padres, and Reds. He has a career record of (124-118) with a 4.61 ERA and one save. He has pitched eight complete games in his career and five of them were shutouts. He was selected to his first All Star Game in 2009 as a member of the Colorado Rockies. He also won a Silver Slugger Award in 2005 as a member of the St. Louis Cardinals.
