Phillies Release John Hester
The Philadelphia Phillies released catcher John Hester. Hester, 31, has played in 93 career games for the Arizona Diamondbacks and Los Angeles Angels. He has a career batting average of .216 with six home runs and 15 runs batted in. He has not appeared in a Major League game since the 2013 season.
