Red Sox Acquire Alejandro De Aza
The Boston Red Sox acquired outfielder Alejandro De Aza and cash considerations from the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for pitcher Joe Gunkel. De Aza, 31, has played in 596 career games for the Marlins, White Sox, and Orioles. He has a career batting average of .265 with 41 home runs and 196 runs batted in. Gunkel, 23, has spent time with Class-A Salem and Double-A Portland this season. In 12 games, he has a record of (3-2) with a 2.90 ERA and two saves.
