Phillies Sign Two Pitchers

The Philadelphia Phillies signed pitcher Kevin Correia to a one-year Major League contract worth $650,000 plus incentives. Correia, 34, has pitched in 353 career games for the Giants, Padres, Pirates, Twins, and Dodgers. He has a career record of (76-95) with a 4.59 ERA. He has pitched complete games in his career and one of them was a shutout. He was selected to his first All Star Game in the 2011 season as a member of the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Phillies also signed pitcher J.C. Gutierrez to a minor league contract. Gutierrez, 31, has pitched in 264 career games for the Astros, Diamondbacks, Royals, Angels, and Giants. He has a career record of (7-17) with a 4.49 ERA and 24 saves.
