Rangers Sign Two, Designate West for Assignment

The Texas Rangers re-signed outfielder Adam Rosales to a one-year deal worth $900,000. Rosales, 31, has played in 375 career games for the Reds, Athletics, and Rangers. He has a career batting average of .226 with 24 home runs and 99 runs batted in. The Rangers also signed pitcher Juan Carlos Oviedo to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Oviedo, 33 in March, has pitched in 349 career games for the Royals, Marlins, and Rays. He has a career record of (21-23) with a 4.28 ERA and 93 saves. Finally, the Rangers designated pitcher Matt West for assignment. West, 26, made his Major League debut for the Rangers in 2014. In three games, he did not register a decision, but he had a 6.75 ERA.
