Indians Sign Roth, Release Cloyd
The Cleveland Indians signed pitcher Michael Roth to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Roth, 25 in February, has pitched in 22 career games for the Los Angeles Angels. He has a career record of (2-1) with a 7.79 ERA. The Indians also released pitcher Tyler Cloyd so that he can sign in Korea. Cloyd, 27, has pitched in 19 career games for the Philadelphia Phillies. He has a career record of (4-9) with a 5.98 ERA.
