Rangers Acquire Will Venable
The Texas Rangers acquired outfielder Will Venable from the San Diego Padres in exchange for catcher/outfielder Marcus Greene and a player to be named later. Venable, 32, has played in 918 career games for the Padres. He has a career batting average of .252 with 81 home runs and 304 runs batted in. Greene, 21, has hit .218 with five home runs and nine RBI in 25 games with Class-A Hickory this season.
