Mets Change Lefties

The New York Mets acquired pitcher Eric O'Flaherty and cash considerations from the Oakland Athletics in exchange for a player to be named later. O'Flaherty, 30, has pitched in 419 career games for the Mariners, Braves, and Athletics. He has a career record of (22-11) with a 2.99 ERA and one save. To make room, the Mets designated pitcher Alex Torres for assignment. Torres, 27, has pitched in 152 career games for the Rays, Padres, and Mets. He has a career record of (7-4) with a 2.68 ERA and one save.
