Pirates Make Two Moves

The Pittsburgh Pirates signed outfielder Travis Snider to a minor league contract. Snider, 27, has played in 612 career games for the Blue Jays, Pirates, and Orioles. He has a career batting average of .245 with 53 home runs and 204 runs batted in. He was recently released by the Baltimore Orioles. The Pirates also designated infielder Pedro Florimon for assignment. Florimon, 28, has played in 229 career games for the Twins, Orioles, and Pirates. He has a career batting average of .201 with 10 home runs and 58 runs batted in.
