Blue Jays Acquire Cliff Pennington
The Toronto Blue Jays acquired infielder Cliff Pennington and cash considerations from the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for infielder Dawel Lugo. Pennington, 31, has played in 761 career games for the Athletics and Diamondbacks. He has a career batting average of .248 with 28 home runs and 200 runs batted in. Lugo, 20, has split this season with Class-A Lansing and Class-A Dunedin. In 98 games, he has hit .257 with four home runs and 44 runs batted in.
