Royals Sign Joe Blanton
The Kansas City Royals signed pitcher Joe Blanton to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Blanton, 34, has pitched in 265 career games for the Oakland Athletics, Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Los Angeles Angels. He has a career record of (85-89) with a 4.51 ERA. He pitched eight career complete games and three of them were shutouts. He won the World Series as a member of the Phillies in 2008.
