Athletics Sign Barry Zito
The Oakland Athletics signed pitcher Barry Zito to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Zito, 36, has pitched in 430 career games for the Oakland Athletics and San Francisco Giants. He has a career record of (165-143) with a 4.02 ERA. He pitched 12 career complete games and five of them were shutouts. He is a three-time All Star selection, the 2002 American League Cy Young Award winner, and he won the World Series with the Giants in 2012.
