Padres Sign Wil Nieves
The San Diego Padres signed catcher Wil Nieves to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Nieves, 37, has played in 421 career games for the Padres, New York Yankees, Washington Nationals, Milwaukee Brewers, Colorado Rockies, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Philadelphia Phillies. He has a career batting average of .243 with nine home runs and 110 runs batted in.
