Athletics Claim Chad Smith Off Waivers
The Oakland Athletics claimed pitcher Chad Smith off waivers from the Detroit Tigers. Smith, 25, made his Major League debut with the Tigers in 2014. In 10 games, he did not register a decision, but he had a 5.40 ERA.
