The Pittsburgh Pirates designated pitcher Radhames Liz for assignment. Liz, 31, has pitched in 39 career games for the Baltimore Orioles and Pittsburgh Pirates. He has a career record of (7-11) with a 6.98 ERA. This is his first big league action since the 2009 season.
