Cardinals Sign Three to Minors Deals
The St. Louis Cardinals signed pitchers Marcus Hatley and Miguel Socolovich and infielder Scott Moore to minor league contracts with invitations to spring training. Hatley, 26, has yet to appear in a Major League game. He was the Chicago Cubs' 39th round pick in the 2006 MLB Draft. Hatley spent the 2014 season in Triple-A with the Iowa Cubs. In 45 games pitched, Hatley compiled a record of (2-6) with a 4.60 ERA and one save. Socolovich, 28, split the 2012 season with the Baltimore Orioles and Chicago Cubs. In 12 games, Socolovich has compiled a record of (0-0) with a 6.06 ERA. Moore, 31 on November 17, has played in 152 games with the Chicago Cubs, Baltimore Orioles, and Houston Astros. In his career, Moore has a batting average of .242 with 16 home runs and 53 runs batted in.
