Sands Becomes a Free Agent
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Jerry Sands has refused his outright assignment and has become a free agent. Sands, 27, has played 82 games with the Los Angeles Dodgers and Tampa Bay Rays. In his career, Sands has a batting average of .240 with five home runs and 31 runs batted in.
