Braves Designate Two for Assignment
The Atlanta Braves designated pitcher Jonny Venters and infielder Ramiro Pena for assignment. Venters, 30 in March, pitched in 230 games in three seasons with the Braves and has compiled a record of (15-10) with a 2.23 ERA and six saves. Venters was a 2011 All Star selection. Pena, 29, has played in 311 career games for the Yankees and Braves. He has a career batting average of .244 with eight home runs and 53 runs batted in.
