Red Sox Sign Hanley Ramirez
The Boston Red Sox signed shortstop Hanley Ramirez to a four-year deal worth $88 million. The deal includes a fifth-year option. Ramirez, 31 in December, has played in 1223 games with the Red Sox, Marlins, and Dodgers. He has a career batting average of .300 with 191 home runs and 654 runs batted in. He is a three-time All Star, a two-time Silver Slugger Award winner, and was the 2006 National League Rookie of the Year.
