Tigers Claim Josh Zeid Off Waivers
The Detroit Tigers claimed pitcher Josh Zeid off waivers from the Houston Astros. Zeid, 27, has pitched in 48 career games with the Astros. He has a career record of (0-1) with a 5.21 ERA and one save. To make room, the Tigers designated outfielder Ezequiel Carrera for assignment. Carrera, 27, played in 176 career games with the Cleveland Indians, Philadelphia Phillies, and Detroit Tigers. He has a career batting average of .253 with two home runs and 28 runs batted in.
