Cubs Acquire Dexter Fowler in Three-Player Trade

The Chicago Cubs acquired outfielder Dexter Fowler from the Houston Astros in exchange for infielder Luis Valbuena and pitcher Dan Straily. Fowler, 29 in March, has played in 783 career games for the Colorado Rockies and Houston Astros. He has a career batting average of .271 with 48 home runs and 245 runs batted in. Valbuena, 29, has played in 576 career games for the Seattle Mariners, Cleveland Indians, and Chicago Cubs. He has a career batting average of .229 with 45 home runs and 173 runs batted in. Straily, 26, has pitched in 48 career games for the Oakland Athletics and Chicago Cubs. He has a career record of (13-12) with a 4.54 ERA.
