Former Chicago Cubs outfielder Ernie Banks has died. He was 83. Banks played in 2528 career games for the Cubs. He had a career batting average of .274 with 512 home runs and 1636 runs batted in. He was an 11-time All Star, a 1960 Gold Glove Award winner, and the National League MVP in 1958 and 1959. He was Mr. Cub. This is a sad occurrence. Rest in peace, Mr. Cub.
