Giants Designate Marco Scutaro for Assignment
The San Francisco Giants designated infielder Marco Scutaro for assignment. Scutaro, 39, has played in 1391 career games for the New York Mets, Oakland Athletics, Toronto Blue Jays, Boston Red Sox, Colorado Rockies, and San Francisco Giants. He has a career batting average of .277 with 77 home runs and 509 runs batted in. He was a 2013 All Star selection, the 2012 National League Championship Series MVP, and a 2012 World Series champion.
